Gina Culver, M.S

Gina is an Associate Biologist and GIS Analyst with more than 6 years of experience. She has worked with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), State parks, and wildlife sanctuaries and conservancies. Her prior experiences have given her the opportunity to work with river otters (Lontra canadensis), Roosevelt elk (Cervus canadensis roosevelti), mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus), pronghorn (Antilocapra americana), and a wide variety of waterfowl species. Mrs. Culver has knowledge in obtaining National and State Park permits, streamlining data collection on tribal, State, federal, and private lands. Mrs. Culver has experience in utilizing GIS tools to create maps related to hunting zones, animal populations, biological survey efforts, and technical exhibits for environmental reports and planning documents. In addition, Mrs. Culver has been involved in conducting habitat assessments and authoring a variety of technical biological reports for biological resources and special-status plant and wildlife species.  Her field experience has exposed her to tasks like coordinating biological field teams, surveying terrain, monitoring animals, installing ear tags and Global Positioning System (GPS) collars, collecting biological samples, maintaining game cameras, radio telemetry, identification of plant and wildlife species, and habitat restoration. Mrs. Culver is experienced in coordinating volunteer programs, leading educational tours, and communicating scientific information to the public. Mrs. Culver joined FCS in 2024 and has since incorporated the production of ArcGIS Survey123 as a tool for data collection and works as an active member of both the Biological Resources team and the GIS team.
