Dr. Dana DePietro, RPA photo

Dana has more than 16 years of experience in cultural resources management, specializing in prehistoric and historic archaeology, paleontology, materials conservation, art and architectural history, and community engagement. He is a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA No. 13517) and meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for archaeology. 

Dana has extensive experience with compliance under NEPA, CEQA, the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), and the Archaeological Resources Protection Act. His project experience includes agency, client, Native American, and subcontractor coordination; research design and treatment planning; archival research; field surveys and site testing; data recovery; construction monitoring; GIS-based mapping and spatial analysis; laboratory analysis and materials conservation; artifact curation and exhibition; and technical report preparation. 

He has completed numerous projects across California for federal, state, and local agencies, including the Bureau of Land Management and Caltrans, ensuring full compliance with Section 106 of the NHPA and CEQA requirements. Dana consistently delivers products that meet or exceed California Office of Historic Preservation standards.
