As a sustainability company, FirstCarbon Solutions heritage is unique. We didn't start out measuring environmental data in an oil field, nor did we have a "peace, flowers and activism" mindset. We started out in the boardroom, helping Fortune 500 companies solve their business challenges. And they convinced us to move into the carbon-management space.

FirstCarbon Solutions Timeline

1998: ADEC Solutions (now the ADEC Group) is founded.
ADEC Solutions specializes in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), managing back-office processes which include data processing, document management, and accounting for Fortune 500 companies. It is now a global enterprise with over 5,000 employees and operations in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
2007: ADEC Solutions first began managing environmental data.
Our clients were overwhelmed by the sheer manpower required to track their carbon emissions and other environmental data, so they asked us to take over. We developed processes and technology that let companies achieve environmental compliance and set sustainability goals without the hassle of managing carbon in house.

2008: FirstCarbon Solutions is established as a stand-alone sustainability management firm.
The company continued to provide carbon management solutions to its existing customer base.
2009: FirstCarbon Solutions assembles a team of environmental experts and acquires software.
To further assist our customers with carbon management, we rounded out our offering with seasoned environmental consultants and with robust environmental software. Our complete, end-to-end solution lets you focus on running your core business while you leave the sustainability details to us.
2010: FirstCarbon Solutions acquires Enverity Corporation and its ghgTrack Software
With this acquisition of the environmental software firm based in the San Francisco Bay area, FirstCarbon Solutions now offers environmental compliance and environmental management tools, as well as, Enverity's ghgTrack software solution, which helps calculate, manage, and report greenhouse gas emissions.
2010: FirstCarbon Solutions acquires Global Outsourcing Advisory Group (GSAG)
GSAG is a top sourcing advisory firm to combine environmental consulting, software, and carbon trading into customized solutions that allow clients to outsource their sustainability initiatives. The acquisitions of GSAG and Enverity Corporation expanded the company's offerings in the carbon management industry, while leveraging its existing expertise in outsourcing.
2011: FirstCarbon Solutions acquires The Plan Consulting Group (TPCG)
TCPG is a full service strategic management and consulting firm that assists companies in their efforts to measure and manage utilities, waste and spending and create measurable value. The acquisition of TCPG enabled FirstCarbon Solutions to further enhance return on investment (ROI) for its clients by driving energy optimization programs and delivering measureable cost savings. Although the trend to become sustainable has increased dramatically, many companies still have difficulty identifying, justifying, and implementing sustainability programs due to the burden it places on internal resources and capital constraints.
